Why hello there, Internet. I didn’t see you come in. Pardon me while I slip into something more comfortable.

*Slips on faux-fur sandals*

Welcome to the second Cos-Fit Interviews. In this week’s installment, we bring you the highly decorated, Canadian Cosplayer Vicky Bunny Angel whose work has earned her a plethora of awards such as Best in Class (Master Division) at Con-G 2013, Best in Show at Youmacon 2012, Best Theatrics (Master Division) Otakuthon 2012, and so many more.

It’s a pleasure to have you with us today, Vicky Bunny Angel. Mind if I call you Vicky? You do? Oh. Well then. Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into cosplaying and what compels you to keep on doing what you are doing?

Vicky: I was gullible enough to believe that dressing up to go to a convention was mandatory. Although I guess I enjoyed the experience of cosplay so much at my first anime con, I just rolled with it for the past 10 years.

Fascinating. Truly an inspiring tale.

*Snobby forced laugh*

Now, I’m sure the fans would love to hear some advice from a seasoned and well received cosplayer such as yourself on how to get into the art of cosplaying. Mind sharing some tips and tricks with our audience?

Vicky: You take some thread, a needle, and use that to mash fabric together.

You’re joking! Is that it?

Vicky: No really, I’m being serious! The best way to get into cosplaying and making costumes is to just do it. It also helps if you have cosplay friends too to ease you into what will soon be a sinkhole for your free time.

*Stares into the camera*

Wiser words have never been spoken. Not only is she a beauty, folks, but a sage of wisdom as well. Speaking of beauty, we have here an array of photos of your previous costumes and conventions, which look amazing I might add. Tell us, how much time and effort do you commit to projects such as your Dark Valkyrie Diana and Arcade Sona?

Vicky: Well this is an interesting question!

I know. I came up with it.

Vicky: If I count the hours of procrastination, then I would say Dark Valkyrie Diana took half a year to make. In actuality she’s probably about 2-3 weeks of solid work. If I didn’t have to wait for things like paint to dry, I could probably do things a lot quicker. Arcade Sona on the other hand, I pretty much made that the night before the convention and finished it in the hotel. But I try not to tell people that because it shatters the illusion of me being a super hard working cosplayer.

And how can you not admire her dedication, folks. But, at the end of the day, when the gauntlets have been taken off and the sword has been laid to rest, I’m sure you retire to being just Vicky. What do you do when you are not in character? Who is Vicky?

Vicky: Vicky is the most boring person you’ve ever met. I really don’t know how I have friends. Haha. I’m on social media a lot and I tend to play a lot of games like League of Legends that have a cooperative aspect to it since all of these activities allow me to maintain my connections to my friends. Profession wise I’m in marketing and looking to specialize in social media marketing.

Outstanding. And what a bright future lies ahead for her. While we’re on the topic of the future, what does your foreseeable future hold? What do the fans have to look forward to?

Vicky: I’m dialing back the amount of conventions I attend. I dubbed 2013 my YOLO year where I attended a record number of cons (atleast 1 a month) and travelled to far out places. Being Canadian, travelling to the US isn’t cheap so it was a big drain on the finances. However I’m going back to focusing on doing whatever floats my boat in the moment. I think with a less busy travel schedule I won’t be as tired and I’ll have more time to make more cosplays! Everyone wants to see more cosplays!

Vicky: Cons I am confirmed to attend this year include PAX East, GTA Comic Con, Superfan Comic Con, Anime North, and Dragon Con. If you’re going to any of these, give me a shout!

How exciting! Now, before we let you go. Is there anything you would like to tell the folks on the Internet before we part ways?

Vicky: I really like cake and macarons. If you see me at a con and give me either a cupcake or macarons you’d probably be my favourite person that day.

Second to me of course
*Even more snobby laughter*

Unfortunately that is all the time we have today. Tune in next time for a whole new Cos-Fit Interviews. Thank you and good bye.
