Should you take supplements? Chances are you should.
Now I'm not saying you should run out and get every product on the shelf, but here are 3 basics that I would highly recommend to anyone no matter your fitness level, age, gender, or goals:
- Multivitamin: To get all the nutrients you need without a huge caloric intake is near impossible. These can make up for what your food lacks. Avoid gummies because they actually lose their nutrients as they sit on the shelf.
- Omega 3: A lot of our food is high in Omega 6 which is important if not paired with Omega 3. Chronic inflammation can lead to cancer and joint issues. Best is from animals such as krill oil or fish oil.
- Probiotics: These are beneficial bacteria that help with digestion, immune function, reduces risk of colon cancer, lowers bad cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, helps with lactose intolerance, inflammation, and others. Needless to say a good thing to include.
